Ashlé Dawson is undisputedly one of the most versatile educators and choreographers in the industry. Dawson has been educating for the last 2+ decades and her enthusiasm, energy, and ability to connect to dancers worldwide has made her an in-demand guest educator and lecturer. She has been faculty at the renowned Broadway Dance Center, NYC for 12 years and counting as well as for the youth program, AIM. She is Guest Faculty at TMilly in LA and has taught Master Classes in over 30 countries including some of the most prestigious studios around the world including LAX Paris, Brent Street Sydney, Proda Oslo, and Kamata JAZZ Brussels to name a few. Ashlé has taught at innumerable conventions throughout her career and is currently on faculty at Celebrity Dance Conventions. She is frequently commissioned by Dartmouth College in NH for educational seminars as well as Buffalo University. Ashlé has an unwavering passion to educate and inspire while leadering others to their greatest potential using positive psychology.
Ashlé has extensive experience in the industry, subverting mediums from screen to stage, with credits including In The Heights. (Film), Mira Quien Baila (Spanish DWTS,) Latin Grammys, Latin Billboards, iHeart Fiesta, SYTYCD Top 4, America’s Got Talent, AGT, Wild’N Out, Times Square NYE (Univision.) She’s worked for artists Don Omar, Prince Royce, Gloria Estefan, Wisin y Yandel, Leslie Grace, Romeo Santos, Alejandra Guzman, and Tito Puente Jr. to name a few and with top names like Steven Spielberg, Anne Hathaway, John Leguizamo, John Oliver, Martin Short, Mario Cantone, and Rachel Dratch. She recently choreographed for Carnival Cruise Lines newest Brazilian show, “RIO Carnival.” Ashlé has been featured in publications including DANCE magazine, Dance Spirit, Dance Teacher, and The Wall Street Journal.
Ashlé’s methodology is based on spiritual modalities: aligning the body, mind, and spirit to create a holistic approach to education. She strives to prepare today’s dancers for success by offering a fun commercial yet educational approach to learning. Creating a safe community is at the heart of Ashlé’s classroom experience and she strives to make each of you feel truly seen. You will leave her class with more than just a phrase of steps, but with a deepened sense of confidence in yourself and a renewed excitement to learn. Ashlé teaches a wide array of genres including Contemporary, Lyrical, Jazz, and Floorwork, however her niche is Latin. Roughly 20 years ago, Ashlé branded her unique style Latin Fusion, blending a wide array of styles including Salsa, Cha Cha, Samba, Afro-Cuban Rumba, Cumbia, and Reggaeton. In these classes, you’ll explore the evolution between traditional and commercial elements while learning the technique, roots, and vernacular of each genre. Ashlé is a Certified Creative Leadership Coach trained in Somatic Therapy Modalities, Triple Certified in The Art of Mindful Communication, and Danscend Certified.
