Tislarm Bouie is a Brooklyn-born choreographer, director, and creative producer whose work spans theater, live events, film, and immersive experiences. He is the recipient of the Princess Grace Award in Theater and received a Drama Desk Award nomination for his choreography for The Bandaged Place at Roundabout Theatre Company. The New York Times described his work as “an efficient and evocative illustration of conflict and character through movement.”
His work spans both theatrical and commercial spaces, with credits including The Color Purple (Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera), The Salvagers (Yale Repertory Theatre), and The Wiz (Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati). Bouie also served as Associate Creative Director and Choreographer for The Stranger, an immersive nightlife experience, and collaborated on immersive and live event projects for Amazon and Lil Nas X.
As a director and creator, Bouie develops original work across stage and screen. His narrative dance film series THUG has received support from the New York State Council on the Arts and Ars Nova.
