Sarah Elgart is an award-winning Choreographer, Director and Producer who has worked extensively in stage, film, television, music videos, circus, alternative venues and more. Elgart has worked with a variety of artists including Robert Downey Jr., Amanda Seyfried, Depeche Mode, Baby Face, and seminal directors such as Catherine Hardwicke, Bob Giraldi, Anton Corbijn, Curtis Hanson, and David Lynch amongst others. In addition to her work in film and television, Sarah has created work for stage and circus, including Dream Angels Circus
, a six month Tokyo run with the Moscow Circus. From 1991 until the show wrapped in 1994, Sarah worked as Music Performance Producer and a segment Director for The Disney Channel’s award-winning New Mickey Mouse Club
where she headed the music department, produced and oversaw all aspects of three weekly music numbers, and directed multi-camera music numbers and single camera music videos. As such she was integral in both training and jump-starting such talents as Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and more. Elgart’s out of the box work includes diverse collaborations including with visual artist Gary Baseman at LACMA , site-specific performance spectacles with the LA World Airports, and ground breaking work creating dance, film, and theater with marginalized populations including transitional homeless women, maximum security women inmates, young people facing critical illness, and more. Her work with 7 maximum security inmates was part of California Institution for Women and included in the Olympic Arts Festival. Sarah Elgart has directed music videos for artists including Mia Doi Todd and Angela Luna, winning six awards for Luna’s video Lies
, including The Accolade’s Best in Show. Among others, she has been the recipient of the Vanguard Award for Choreographic Innovation, the LA Weekly Best Choreography Award, and a Bob Fosse Award nominee. She has twice been selected as one of four nationally recognized choreographers for the Sundance Dance Film Labs and recently directed Tell Someone
