Reina Hidalgo is an Afro Cuban Latina native from Miami and New Jersey. She began her training in ballet, tap, and jazz at the age of five. She continued her training in the performing arts through middle school and college. After graduating from high school she attended New World School of the Arts in Miami, FL where she received numerous scholarships and her B.F.A. in Dance in 2002. Soon after graduating college, she joined the Miami Sol WNBA co-ed dance team for two years.
With over nineteen years of teaching, choreographing, and performance experience, Reina has appeared in numerous films, TV shows, commercials, and music videos.
As a professional dancer and choreographer, Reina has had the pleasure of working with recording artists such as P!nk, Rihanna, Ciara, Janelle Monae, Miley Cyrus, Gloria Estefan, Missy Elliott, and Daddy Yankee to name a few. Her film credits include Disney’s Encanto as an animation dancer, Babylon, Teen Beach Movie, Hannah Montana Movie, Live by Night, and being the Ricardos. Television credits include Apple TV’s The Morning Show, Dancing With The Stars, CBS Mom, Usher Hennessy commercial, the Grammy’s, Latin Grammy’s, MTV Awards, Bet awards, and AMA’s.
For the past 10 years, Reina has also been working as an Associate Choreographer and Choreographer. You can see her work on The Masked Singer, Apple TV’s Truth Be Told, Latin Billboard Awards, Latin AMA’s, SYTYCD, The Oscars, and Ellen. She has worked on live performance for recording artists and music videos for Enrique Iglesias, Pitbull, Ozuna, Gwen Stefani, ESPN NFL Draft, Target, and The Jonas Brothers. She was also Supervising Choreographer and consulting Producer for the Emmy Nominated Hulu original show ‘East Los High’ for all five seasons. Reina has always had a passion for educating and started teaching after graduating college at various studios in Miami. In LA she has taught at the former dance studios Debbie Reynolds and IDA and has continued her teaching around the world to Germany, Australia, London, Ireland, and Chile. Her class is not only about picking up choreography but she pushes her students to bee the best versions of themselves. She helps them connect their mind, body, and spirit through movement. With her expertise in the dance industry she knows what it takes to have a long and prosperous dance career. She brings years of meditation and reiki practice into her classes to help dancers connect to their highest self.
