With a professional career spanning over 25 years, Carla Kama is one of today’s most sought after creative collaborators. Her career has grown from that of professional dancer, to successful choreographer, and now associate director and creative producer. Carla’s ability to create world-class shows and performances comes from years of experience in the dance world and entertainment industry. Carla began her career in Los Angeles as a professional dancer. At age 19, she was chosen over 1000 hopefuls to be the sixth member of the original Fly Girls on the Emmy-winning television series In Living Color. She danced in many productions, from live shows, film, and television to music artists such as Prince, No Doubt, Paula Abdul, Smashing Pumpkins, and Ricky Martin to name a few. Carla is also an original and founding member of The Pussycat Dolls and part of their early history at the famous Viper Room on Sunset Blvd. Carla’s talent for choreography and keen eye for musical staging led her to transition into the role of choreographer. She was the supervising choreographer for Britney Spears Circus World Tour. She has created choreography for Britney Spears Femme Fatale World Tour, Ricky Martin’s Mas Tour as well as projects for Prince, Carmen Electra, Paulina Rubio, Jane’s Addiction, Kid Rock, and ZZ Top. Her choreography can also be seen in the sexy burlesque scenes in HBO’s Carnivale, Carmen Electra’s Aerobic Striptease, and The Young and the Restless. Carla is credited with the musical staging and sizzling dance work showcased in Mandalay Bay’s STORM. She has also worked in musical theater, choreographing the European touring productions of Grease and HAIR. As associate director, Carla has worked closely with world renowned director, Jamie King, on many projects including Michael Jackson’s World Premiere of Love Never Felt So Good, featuring Usher on the 2014 iHeartRadio Music Awards, Michael Jackson’s ONE in Las Vegas and Immortal World Tour both from Cirque Du Soleil, QVIVA Live starring Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony, Rihanna’s Loud and The Last Girl On Earth World Tours, The Spice Girls The Return of The Spice Girls World Tour, Avril Lavigne’s Best Damn Tour World Tour, and Korean pop star, Rain’s Rain’s Coming World Tour. Carla was also an associate creative producer on season 3 of THE X FACTOR, USA.
