Kellen Stancil is a NYC based Choreographer, Director & Educator. He has creative and artistic roots in New York, Las Vegas, Florida, California, & Hawaii. His Asian American Pacific Islander background has lead him to be a very spiritual and organic leader. It’s his intention to lead with passion, support, clarity and encouragement with every creation and collaboration. He takes pride in being able to share some of the most honest moments with artists while cultivating a piece of art. Kellen lays the groundwork to see every artist as human first. When you understand the human, then you are capable of nurturing the artist.
As a professional dancer, some of Kellen’s credits include Broadway/National Tour: Disney’s The Lion King. Las Vegas: Cirque Du Soleil’s Viva Elvis, Franco Dragone’s Le-Reve. Orlando: Walt Disney World’s “Beauty and the Beast”, “Dream Along with Mickey”, and “Celebrate the Season”. He was an original company member of BARE Dance Company under the direction of Mike Esperanza. Television credits include The Met Gala with Billy Porter, Victoria Secret Fashion Show, and ABC Extreme Makeover: Home Edition & Christmas Parade.
Kellen’s first attempt at directing and choreographing was a show he created called LE COSMETIQUE, which spotlighted the spectacle of human talent, expressiveness and exploration of fantasy. The show inspired a dream which then became a reality and Kellen created his burlesque company called The Vanity Vixens, which appeared in Vegas and New York, with Nicole “Coco” Austin (wife of Ice-T, and star of Ice Loves Coco) and Live Nation.
Kellen really solidified his New York choreography reputation with his captivating and provocative production numbers for Broadway Bares, one of the biggest charity events in NYC, benefiting Broadway Cares Equity Fights Aids. He works with Walt Disney World, Disney Cruise Lines and Celebrity Cruises as an Audition Choreographer & Casting Associate. He has directed and choreographed 2 shows for Celebrity Cruises. Kellen has always had an aptitude for creating Inspiring Dance Videos. “Transcend”, “Far From Over” & “A New Attitude” are just a few of his viral videos he has made. One of his favorite Recording Artist to work with is Trans-Icon Mila Jam, where he has choreographed multiple of her music videos.
As an educator, Kellen loves sharing knowledge with upcoming artist and grooming our next generation of performers. He loves sharing the tools and resources he has inherited with other open minds and open hearts. With his workshop series, he also tries to find time to teach worldwide as much as he can.
