Emily Greenwell is an educator, choreographer, dancer, and certified yoga instructor based in New York City. Originally from Detroit, Michigan, she has traveled extensively throughout the United States, Europe, South America, and Asia, teaching workshops, setting choreography, and leading masterclasses. Emily is currently on faculty at Broadway Dance Center, Peridance Center, and Intrigue Dance Convention, among others.
As the founder and former artistic director of the nonprofit arts collective cloude.nyc, Emily created and produced interdisciplinary work spanning dance, film, photography, and live performance. Through the organization, she facilitated community-centered improv events, workshops, and collaborative creative projects that supported artists and fostered connection.
Her performance credits include Phish at Madison Square Garden, Marian Hill’s “Want You” music video, Jackson Harris’s “Dance with the Devil” music video, Aida at The Muny, and Todrick Hall’s Oz the Musical. Choreography credits include DanceOn’s Every Single Step, produced by Brian Friedman and Nigel Lythgoe, the Capezio ACE Awards, Arte Creative, Wise Fruit, The Giving Tree, and more.
Emily’s teaching approach blends her diverse experiences in dance, yoga, and movement education. In addition to her yoga certification, she has pursued extensive study in Chinese medicine, nervous system regulation, lymphatic health, and holistic movement practices. Her classes integrate yoga-based warm-ups, improvisation, musicality, and creative exploration to cultivate technical growth, artistic confidence, and embodied awareness. Emily is passionate about helping students develop both as artists and individuals, creating an environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, presence, and self-expression.
