Chris Jarosz has been teaching and dancing professionally for over a decade. He has been part of conventions that have taken him all across the US, to Canada, India, and more – he continues to inspire students all over the world. Most recently he guest taught and judged at Jump dance convention, and he’s judged many times with Break The Floor. Chris lives in New York, where he teaches weekly classes at both Broadway Dance Center and Steps On Broadway. At Steps, his class is often featured as the Spotlight class of the week. His popularity as a teacher continues to grow, allowing him to travel to many different studios and conventions for master classes and choreography.

Chris competed as one of the top 20 dancers on the fourth season of the hit reality TV show So You Think You Can Dance. There, he had the honor of working with Mia Michaels, Tyce Diorio, Wade Robson, and Tabitha and Napoleon. After the show, Chris returned to Southern Methodist University where he graduated with a BFA in dance. After college, Chris’ career flourished, turning him into a multidimensional performer and artist. Immediately after graduation, he became an original cast member of Cirque Du Soleil’s Viva ELVIS! in Las Vegas. Chris represented Cirque Du Soleil on many television shows, such as So You Think You Can Dance, Dancing With the Stars, The Bachelor, and The Emmy’s. His work in TV/Film continued in LA with features on Glee, Fuller House, Toyota 2015, LA LA Land (Choreographer Mandy Moore) and Behind the Candelabra (choreographer Marguerite Derricks). In the music world, he was paired with JLO on her  “Dance Again” single album cover, and performed alongside Taylor Swift in her VMA’s “Shake It Off” performance. In 2016, he moved to NYC to be an original cast member of Radio City’s summer show, The New York Spectacular. The following year, he booked the National Tour of the hit Broadway show WICKED.

Chris continues to work commercially, both in New York and across the US. You can find him on shows such as The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Halston, SNL, The Today Show, and Good Morning America. He also performed with Panic At The Disco at the 2022 VMAs, and in music videos with artists such as JLO, Halsey and Carley Rae Jepson. He was lucky enough to play one of JLo’s backup dancers in her movie Marry Me, and was featured in In The Heights. Most recently, he became part of the cast of the musical adaptation of The Devil Wears Prada. He also served as one of the show’s associate choreographers and became the swing/dance captain during their run in Chicago.

Chris has always had a love and passion for choreographing, for inspiring and motivating others. When teaching, his style of dance focuses on connecting to the music, on getting out of your head and telling the story of the song and the movement. Dance can be so serious, and often focused on impressing others – you are in class to challenge and impress yourself. Chris encourages students to see if they can learn something new, to see that being vulnerable and staying present lets the body express what it wants to express. Technically speaking Chris’ class is rooted in contemporary movement with lyrical and jazz inspired moves thrown in there. Any opportunity for a little groove is a must.
