Bob Garrett began studying voice at age 13 and has starred on Broadway in “ Grease”, “Godspell”, et al. He has vocal coached countless clients in all phases of show business from Los Angeles and New York, to London, Tokyo, Sydney, Zurich and Rome. His client list includes Jessica Lange, Drew Barrymore, Elle Fanning, Katy Perry, Evan Peters, Kathy Bates, Channing Tatum, Big Time Rush, Vanessa Hudgens, Rebel Wilson, Brie Larson, Gerard Butler, Japan’s legendary Shonen Tai, Wilson-Philips and for Emmy winners, Judy Davis and Tammy Blanchard for “Me and My Shadows: Life with Judy Garland”… and the legendary King of Pop, Michael Jackson.
Bob has also been the vocal coach for countless singers on “American Idol”, “the Voice” and “Australia’s Got Talent.” In addition, Mr. Garrett has also coached and judged the World Championship of Performing Arts, the National Singing Championships of Stage Door Connections and The Lollapalooza Festival. His students currently grace the top of the I-Tunes and Billboard charts and (pre-pandemic) the stages of every musical currently running on Broadway.
As a singer-songwriter, Bob has recorded for A&M Records, was a song staff writer for the legendary Motown Records, as well as staffing for Columbia Pictures Music and Warner Chappell. His chart topping songs have been recorded by HEART, Smokey Robinson, Michael Jackson, Gladys Knight, Tina Turner et al. As a songwriter Bob has collaborated with Brenda Russell, Stephen Bray, Franne Golde, Richard Kerr, Steve Dorff, Ferras et al.
Currently, Bob has also been commissioned by legendary producer Steve Binder, to write the book and lyrics for ”CALLBACK!”, a new musical film uniquely composed by ten Top 40 composers.
