Shannon Lewis is a creative force who is passionate about her unique vision of storytelling through the collaborative process of theatre, television and film.
As a performer, she has a 25 year Broadway legacy.
Her performance of “I Gotcha” in the Tony Award winning original Broadway cast of FOSSE along with 10 blockbuster Broadway musical credits, the Radio City Rockettes and countless television and film appearances, have solidified her iconic status in the dance and theatre worlds.
Conceiving, creating and executing as a producer, director and choreographer, Shannon brings a dynamic and innovative point of view to her work. Her expertise in all levels of content ranges from small, focused solo scenes
to original live theatrical events, to complex network television production numbers.
She has extensive experience creating for film and television as the choreographer of multiple pre taped and live projects for NBC’s Saturday Night Live, The Tonight Show and HBO’s Last Week Tonight.
Shannon has also created, directed and choreographed many groundbreaking and high profile theatrical and dance works at Radio City Music Hall, Carnegie Hall, Roundabout Theatre Company, Signature Theatre NYC, Town Hall, Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, Mark Morris Dance Group, Ailey Citicorp Theatre, Dreamworks, CLI, Dance Out Loud, Bay Street Theatre, Bucks County Playhouse, Maltz Jupiter Theatre, BC BEAT and The York Theatre Company.
She is the Choreographer of the groundbreaking world premiere new musical THE SECRET SILK by Stephen Schwartz, John Tartaglia and Jim Henson Creature Shop.
In 2023, Shannon was honored to receive a nomination from the World Choreography Awards for her original dance short sensation “DON”T GO” which she co-produced, conceived, directed and choreographed.
Shannon has been a reconstructeur and Master Educator for the VERDON/ FOSSE LEGACY, setting and passing on her formidable knowledge of the legendary work of Bob Fosse and Gwen Verdon.
She is also an adjunct professor in the Commercial Dance BFA Program at Pace University in NYC, and on faculty at world renowned studios STEPS on
Broadway and Broadway Dance Center in NYC, where she teaches popular, professional level classes.
Born in Toronto, now a dual citizen of the USA/Canada. Shannon is based in her beloved New York City.
