Internationally renowned producer/ director/ choreographer and master teacher, Michèle Assaf has worked on Broadway, Off-Broadway, Regional and International Theater projects as well as film and Television.

She has directed and choreographed the internationally acclaimed multimedia operas for The Houston Grand Opera; Carmen, Pagliacci and Madame Butterfly, as well as Opera Pacific’s Gala, Opera Odyssey 2001, Candide, Samson and Delilah, and Aida. She had the pleasure of Directing and choreographing Houston Grand Opera’s 50th Anniversary Gala with such notables as Renee Fleming, Bren Terfel, Patricia Racette and Marcello Giordano.

One of Michèle’s most successful ventures is the creation of Tezoro Productions LIVE, founded in 2003 with Allison Ellner (Co-owner of Broadway Dance Center). The company’s products, LIVE at Broadway Dance Center DVDs, are dedicated to bringing education to dancers worldwide through instructional DVDs with the best teachers the industry has to offer, your #1 Dance and Choreography Resource. Tezoro Productions LIVE has become the exclusive dance-training provider for HOPSports. These companies will deliver 21st century physical education/dance through the Tezoro dance library where MILLIONS of kids will utilize its unique multi-media, technology driven physical education system that merges media with technology! The two companies created over 200 animated dance instructional files, a brand new absolute beginner thru advanced beginners DVD series as well as the current Tezoro library.
Michèle created World Dance Movement – The International Festival that builds connections between dance and diverse cultures to inspire and transform dancers around the world. Theatre Dance Michèle is varied in her styles choreographically and technique definitely matters in her class. She is an experienced and giving teacher whose students learn to develop and refine their personal style. Teaching her students to understand their bodies and how they have the control to create any movement asked of them is her forte. She understands the instrument and how it works for each individual, and is passionate about her teaching and tries to dig deep with her students to get to the core of their expression in relation to the given choreography. From the choreographed warm-up to the adagio, jumps and turns across the floor, to the combination, Ms. Assaf’s class emphasizes that moment where jazz, ballet and modern meet to convey strength, flexibility and emotional expression.

Developed by Michèle Assaf for the dance world. AI reduces your workload by removing tightness so you can swing your limbs more freely. It transports oxygen to sore muscles and quickly removes toxins from muscles, so recovery is faster. AI works as a deep massage technique because it activates muscle fibers during stretching. The class starts with unlocking the hip and trunk area, the feet, ankles and calves and then we move to the upper body. This class is for any level of dancer or athlete, as well as anyone recovering from injuries or interested in preventing injuries.
