Charissa Barton is a choreographer, director, educator and producer based in Los Angeles with 25+ years of entertainment experience, known most recently as the choreographer of the viral opening title sequence for HBOMax’s Peacemaker series. She has collaborated with James Gunn, Julie Taymor, Alan Tudyk, Katy Perry, Robert Battle, and David Parsons among others, and is co-founder of Axis Connect, a non-profit platform that connects and empowers diverse, emerging dance artists. Her choreographic work for screen appears on Netflix, SyFy, and HBOMax and she was recently featured as part of Variety’s Artisan Series. Charissa has performed on renowned stages including the Sydney Opera House, Kennedy Center, and City Center in NYC, among many others. She has been featured in the New York Times, Washington Post, Vogue Magazine, Dance Magazine, and several international publications. Alongside her achievements in the entertainment industry. Charissa was President of a 501c3 that brought education, humanitarian aid, and opportunities to communities in need in India, Ethiopia, Peru, Bolivia and more. Armed with a unique creative voice, her leadership skills, collaborative spirit and experience across multiple disciplines render her a uniquely dynamic dance maker and collaborator.
