Born and raised in Queens, NY, Kendrick Samuel is a passionate educator, with 10+ years of teaching experience in the tri-state area. Teaching, often referred to as his “happy place” has led him through the doors of Peridance, Broadway Dance Center, EXPG, Steps On Broadway, and Brickhouse NYC in leading a number of guest classes, workshops and more over the years. It’s through his unique movement quality that Kendrick has created his own style by the name of Performance Groove.
From an artistry standpoint, Kendrick is known to wear a wide range of hats, from actor to dancer, model, and creative. Appearing in commercials for Warby Parker, 1800 Tequila, Squarespace, and Geico. Performing with the likes of Doja Cat, Metro Boomin, Nicki Minaj, and Luis Fonsi on the industry’s biggest stages, such as the GRAMMYs and Coachella. In addition to choreography and movement direction for Tone Stith, Maeta, Chloe Flower, Knicks City Dancers, and The Brooklynettes. He can also be seen in the upcoming musical film, “The Color Purple”, choreographed by Fatima Robinson, Adrian Wiltshire, and Tia Rivera.
