Choreographer & Stage Director Originally born in Guadalajara Mexico, Choreographer Rodrigo Basurto utilizes his connection to music to develop a unique approach to dance choreography. From a very young age, Rodrigo had the opportunity to be part of a dance studio in Mexico, Opus Arte Y Talento, where he studied stage performance and dance for 7 years. At the age of 17 he moved to Toronto, Canada to follow his dream. In his 8 years in Canada, Rodrigo began to choreograph music videos and was able to leave his stamp and unique style on the stage which led to becoming the choreographer of one of the largest TV shows in Canada, the Much Music Awards, for 4 years. After working in the television industry for several years, he followed his dream and was able to take part in a special 1-year program at UFT Of Toronto School where he took a television and film course. Thanks to his studies and experience in stage choreography, Rodrigo began to put his knowledge to work. In 2015 he made the decision to Los Angeles. That same year he took the opportunity to work with many people in the industry whom he now calls his mentors. Rodrigo has choreographed and worked on some of the biggest TV shows in the world. His expertise in stage and artistic direction has taken him where he always wanted to be. Now with more than 10 years of experience in the entertainment industry, Rodrigo continues to choreograph for music videos, live concerts, and television. Rodrigo is inspiring young artists and dancers to believe that anything is possible when combining preparation, passion, and desire in order to follow their dreams.
