Angela Carter is Co-Owner and Director of Tap Into the Network, a touring tap dance convention serving high-level tap artists around the country. Within TITN, she created an apprentice program, providing mentoring, career guidance, training, networking, and performance opportunities for young dancers. She bridges the gap from the dance studio to the commercial dance world for tap dancers and teachers. Tap Into the Network is celebrating their 15th Anniversary this year!
For the past 15 years, Angela has taught for various conventions and organizations including Tremaine, Hollywood Vibe, CoDance, Dance Olympus, Commercial Dance Intensive, Dupree, Industry Dance Xperience, International Dance Challenge Guatemala, and more. She is a highly sought out award-winning choreographer and teacher. She’s choreographed for hundreds of competitive teams around the world. Her main goal is to share the love of dance in a stylistic, fun, relatable, and non-intimidating way.
Her tap sounds and choreography were used in Disney’s Princess and the Frog. She has assisted tap dance legends Henry LeTang, Pat Rico, and Al Gilbert. Her sounds were used for Al Gilbert’s most advanced Grade 9 training, used by dance studios around the globe. She has been featured in various live shows and can be seen in commercials for Sensa, Carvel Ice Cream, and more. Angela has choreographed and performed for the Miss Kansas Pageant, Choreographers Carnival, LA Tap Festival, Motor City Tap Festival and Tri-Tappin’ Festival. She has also worked with Tyce D’iorio on the Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon, and performed on Mobbed (FOX). Angela has choreographed for and/or performed with many professional Los Angeles companies including Tapsounds Underground, The LaLas, and Chloe Arnold’s Syncopated Ladies on numerous occasions.
Angela is the author and creator of The Genius Guide to College Dance Programs, designed specifically to assist and coach students and parents through the college selection journey. The guide is sold on Amazon! She also teaches at various colleges and universities as guest faculty.
Angela believes dance training is life training and can be used as a vehicle of inspiration. She loves working with people to help them achieve their goals along the journey. Over the years, Angela has developed methods to help students with confidence, awareness, and social skills. She encourages you to trust yourself, take risks, have fun, and never settle in the pursuit of living your best life!
