Mayte Natalio is from Queens, New York and the daughter of Dominican immigrants. Mayte studied at the Laguardia High School for the Performing Arts and received her BFA in Dance from Purchase College. Mayte began her career as a concert dancer and has performed and toured nationally and internationally with several companies, including the Parsons Dance Company, Camille A. Brown and Dancers, Kyle Abraham’s A.I.M and Darrell Moultrie. A fan of exploring as many genres as possible, Mayte has also enjoyed the commercial dance experience and performed with pop artists Mylene Farmer and Kanye West. On TV & Film, she has performed on episodes of Neil Patrick Harris’s Best Time Ever, Project Runway All Stars, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, NBC’s Jesus Christ Superstar Live (also assistant choreographer to Camille A. Brown) and most recently, she can be seen in Netflix’s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. Mayte has also performed in several regional theaters and on off-Broadway. She was a member of the original cast of the immersive hit, Queen of the Night and Third Rail Project’s The Grand Paradise. Mayte organically began exploring choreography as her curiosity in her own self expression grew. She began assisting and then becoming associate to Camille A. Brown on several projects as well as to Sam Pinkleton and Ann Yee. With Ms. Brown, Mayte was associate choreographer on Atlantic Theater Company’s This Ain’t No Disco and The Metropolitan Opera’s Porgy and Bess. She was Mr. Pinkleton’s associate on Arena Stage’s Dave and Ms. Yee’s associate on Dallas Theater Center’s first ever Public Works production, The Tempest. As a choreographer, Mayte began to build momentum after she premiered her work titled Scary Stories: Episode Central Park 5, in the choreographer’s showcase BCBeat. Since then, Mayte has choreographed DTC/Public Works The Winter’s Tale, Barrington Stage’s Into the Woods, NYU/New Studio’s The Runaways, Public Theater/Mobile Unit’s Measure for Measure, Two River Theater’s world premiere of Joe Iconis’s Love in Hate Nation and Virgin Voyages launch and premiere of the immersive production Another Rose. Most recently, Mayte premiered her digital work, La Hora Santa, which she wrote, directed and choreographed for the Ars Nova Vision Residency program. Mayte is a core member of LubDub Theatre Co. and a founding member and executive producer of the immersive events production company, MinuteZero.
