Keko Hainswheeler is a costume designer, fashion and wardrobe director who works seamlessly between the entertainment, fashion and advertising industry. Based between London, LA and NYC with a decade worth of experience across genres, Keko brings his wealth of knowledge, expertise, artistic brilliance and outcome-oriented mindset to actualize each project and collaboration to its fullest potential.
Keko regularly collaborates with A-list recording artists and record labels with a range of selected clients all over the world, creating wardrobe styling & costume design for arena tours, music videos, live performances and promotional purposes. His list of clients includes Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Madonna, Pink, Melanie Martinez, Skunk Anansie, Grimes, Nicki Minaj and Dizzee Rascal to name a few.
His wardrobe is custom created to encompass each artist’s style, performance, and brand identity to reinforce their stage presence and creative direction. Working with either the lead artist, the professional dancers or the whole tour production, Keko creates impactful looks while understanding the importance of budget, planning, scheduling & wardrobe that is wearable, durable and movement oriented for performance.
Keko’s work is regularly featured in major editorials with some of the fashion industry’s most recognized brands. Some of his print and TV campaign credits include Yamaha, Rolls Royce, Vitamin Water, City of Dream Macau resort and Illimaqua cosmetics. Keko’s multifaceted skills in both fashion and the costume industry enabled him to design for the denim brand “Diesel”. He created 3 special commercial driven collections that have sold globally to celebrate Diesel’s company heritage and the unique Diesel DNA.
Keko’s work has been exhibited in museums all over the world including The Grammy Museum, Katy Perry Exhibit “Frock and Roll,” The Design Museum’s “Women Power and Fashion” Exhibit (UK) and was even invited by Victoria Albert Museum (UK) as a specialist in his field to talk about his creative process and achievements.
As a designer and creator, Keko is inspired by the creative process in which wardrobe serves as visual communication and the intersection of where dreams and ideas become reality. He creates stand-alone moments that are entertainment and music-focused while feeling fresh, unique and premium.
