Amanda is a New York City based voice teacher, coach, vocologist and researcher. She is the owner of a private studio with clients performing on Broadway, off Broadway, national tours, international tours, regional theatre, film and television, and pursuing their recording careers. Her clients have been nominated for Grammy, Tony, Lucille Lortel, Outer Critic Circle, Drama Desk, and Helen Hayes Awards. She also teaches in the top ranked musical theatre program at Pace University. Amanda is the author of the book So You Want to Sing Musical Theatre, Updated and Expanded Edition.
Amanda was the Production Vocal Coach for the Broadway shows The Lightning Thief and Be More Chill, along with the regional premiere of Love in Hate Nation at Two River Theatre. She has provided vocal coaching and consulting for TheatreworksUSA and iTheatrics. Her film vocal coaching credits include Disney’s Encanto, BEAU, and One Year Off. She has provided additional vocal coaching for Beetlejuice on Broadway and Merrily We Roll Along (upcoming Broadway 2023). As a Singing Voice Specialist, she frequently works with injured singers, collaborating with laryngologists and voice therapists in NYC and across the country.
As a performer, Amanda was an original cast member of the LA company of Wicked, part of the Las Vegas company of Mamma Mia, and toured the country on the first national tour of the 2002 Broadway revival of Oklahoma!. After initially studying voice at Baylor University, Amanda began performing professionally. She completed her BS in Liberal Arts at The New School, her MM in Vocal Performance with a Musical Theatre concentration as well as an Advanced Certificate in Vocal Pedagogy, both from NYU. She completed the Vocology Mentorship at Mt. Sinai Medical Center, the Distinguished Voice Professional certificate from NYSTA, and completed her Certificate in Vocology from NCVS. She is a PAVA-Recognized Vocologist and currently completing her doctorate at Columbia University.
A recipient of the Van Lawrence Fellowship, Amanda is an active voice researcher and author. She has presented research at the Fall Voice Conference, The Voice Foundation, the PAVA Symposium, the VASTA Conference, and the NATS National Conference. She served on the board of New York Singing Teachers Association as the Professional Development Program Director and on the board of the Pan American Vocology Association as the Communications Director.
